Beep Book Mew was a prototype of the robotic dog soldiers. They originally whent with a cat due to better flexibility, but they didn't like the independence of the cat AI.

When it's job was done Beep Book Mew was thrown out, left to rust. However Angst forgot to disable the AI. And Angst never added the safety measure that would keep Beep from going after him when given the Lullaby command. Beep Book Mew would eventually be found by Silver Leaf and Gravity, it was a valuable member of their team.
